Who is brandon Ray Medina?
I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Brewster, Washington when the Three Rivers Hospital had the funds to have a birthing center. (I will try to bring that back). As a kid I spent my hours fishing, wrestling, reading, and riding my dirt-bike through the orchards and into the mountains.
I graduated from Brewster Jr/Sr Highschool in 2014. During my time in School.
I helped organize and create the first Brewster Robotics team to compete around the state.
I was the President of the Brewster FFA Club.
I brought Brewster back 4 wrestling state medals.
I was a Volunteer Fireman for fire district 15 in Brewster Wa. Where I got my wild land firefighting red card and completed my course at Washington State Fire Training Academy. I was also one of the few Spanish translators during active emergencies.
I was a Life Gaurd at two local public pools in our district (Brewster and Bridgeport).
I worked in the orchards picking, hauling, and sorting apples, pears, and cherries during harvest.
I rotated sprinklers in alfalfa fields, hay bucked and dug fence post holes for a local farmer on the Okanogan river.
I was a city employee but volunteered to run the local Pound. Helping Clean, feed, and adopt the local stray dogs who arrived tot he facility. (Super small only 2 cages, I hope to help every city in our district with animal control issues. Which includes wildlife mitigation)
MOST IMPORTANT. I was one of two city employees who helped organize, cook and distribute over 300+ free meals to kids in the community under the age of 18. For the Kids Summer Free Lunch Program.
After High-school I studied for my AA at Spokane Falls Community College. During my time in Community College.
I continued to work summer vacations in Brewster, harvesting fruit and working on the landscaping crew at Gamble Sands Golf Resort.
I worked at a restaurant. Learning every aspect and skillset of the restaurant from dishwasher to chef. Front of the house and back of the house.
I helped fight the largest wild fire in Washington state history the Carlton Complex Fire. Where I also volunteered to drive around refilling random livestock water troughs for the weeks that followed the fire.
MOST IMPORTANT. I worked at Day Break Youth Rehabilitation Center as a Youth Drug and Alcohol Councilor and got a priceless and unique insight to the kinds of issues our local youth face. I have many different ideas on how to help this sector of our community because it effects every race and economic class in our communities.
After Spokane Falls Community College I studied Cellular and Molecular Biology with a concentration in Mycology at Central Washington University. During my time at the University.
I became the Head Wrestling Coach at Central Washington University. Coached countless amount of amazing local kids. Took two student athletes to NCWA National tournament in Dallas, Texas. and coached several collegiate state champions.
I organized, hosted, and ran the Washington State College Wrestling Championship Tournament.
MOST IMPORTANT. I was elected the NCWA Northwest Commissioner by my fellow collegiate coaches. I oversaw every wrestling team in Washington State, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and British Columbia. Where I got a unique perspective on how to help our local athletes succeed.
Since University I have been and entrepreneur responsible for starting multiple companies including the one for my invention “no-smo” a personal air filtration device. Which was Manufactured at our Local machine shop in Brewster, Washington.
As of now I travel the state a lot for work but my home base in the lovely city of Brewster.
I am a Personal Trainer and MMA Coach for a fighter from Brewster and a fighter from Oroville. (Both district locals)
I am a professional comedian who preforms all a round the state representing Brewster and our district on stage everywhere I go. Winner of the Yakima Valley Comedy Fest. I build my set through the vast experiences in my life that I have produced in our very district.
Before you dismiss this campaign as a joke because I am a comedian. I would like to highlight the Skill set of a professional comedian. That skillset is one that is not afraid to speak up, can dissect the bullsh*t, and find the good in all things. It is a skill set that brings people of all walks of life together in peace.
